Dr. Joe McKenna's hometown is Portland, OR, but he was raised in the Tri-Cities, WA.  Dr. McKenna's work experience prior to becoming a chiropractor includes two and a half years in South Korea teaching English as a Foreign Language before jumping his field of undergraduate study. He worked for a pair of high tech public relations firms in San Francisco spanning five years. During his time in San Francisco Dr. McKenna volunteered with Young Life - Tenderloin, which focused on mentoring high school students from Galileo Academy of Arts and Science. He even worked on Young Life staff for a while.

Dr. McKenna's continued his pattern of volunteering while at WSCC, where he served as vice president of Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) local chapter for two years. As part of SACA Dr. McKenna traveled to Washington D.C. three times to lobby US senators and representatives regarding issues important to the chiropractic profession. Dr. McKenna has been an active volunteer with the Washington State Chiropractic Association (WSCA) for the past three years.

• Bachelor of Arts in Communications from George Fox University in Newberg, OR
• Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR

In his free time Dr. McKenna likes to follow NFL and college football, explore neighborhoods, play volleyball and racquetball, and enjoys cooking for friends and family.
